I had a lot of fun sewing this top. I ran across this blog post last week about adding lace to a tshirt and just loved it. So when I decided to sew up the Piko Top by Everything Your Momma Made I just knew I had to try it.

I used a jersey fabric for this top, so I ended up sizing down 3 sizes so it wouldn't be poofy. Also it gave it more of a tshirt look to it.

I made sure to keep the same arm and neck size openings as the size recommended, just like the pattern dictates. Also can I say what an amazingly fast sew this was! Even with the lace, I had it sewed in under an hour!

And the lace really adds a nice touch of detail, but still keeps the shirt very comfortable!

This is a beautiful pattern included the Sew Fab Bundle! If you haven't bought yours yet, follow the link and read all about it! Or just click on the button below to purchase!

Laurel Tunic!

The Laurel Tunic!

This is my version of the Laurel Tunic. It's going into summer, so I thought a sleeveless version without the cowl would be perfect. The knit fabric I used was slightly on the thinner side, so I decided to fully line the bodice. The great thing about that was no binding.

Another thing I really like about this Tunic is the pockets! They're very easy to sew and really come
in handy.

I sewed the full pleated version front and back. Because the fabric was thinner, it did not add any unwanted bulk and is very flattering.

I was able to sew up the Tennis Skort from Heidi and Finn. and it's an awesome pattern! I paired it with the Tulip top from my previous post, and think the combination is great!

If you've never sewed with knit, this is a great pattern to begin. It was incredibly easy! And sewed up very fast!

And the fit is fantastic! I think my daughter approves!

And one of the best things about this skirt, is the attached shorts underneath! Now my daughter can run and play and be covered!

The Tulip Pinafore

I had the pleasure of sewing the Tulip Pinafore by Too Sweets Patterns. This was such an easy sew!

I love the simplicity of this top, I was able to "dress" it up any way I liked. So I chose to add two little pockets to the front, a cute little bow, and little red casings to gather the shoulders.

The "casings" are a square about 4" x 4", I hemmed two opposing sides and wrapped it around the shoulder area wrong sides out. Then I sewed it together lengthwise, not catching the shirt fabric, and then turned it right sides out. And then did the same to the other shoulder. It's a very simple alteration with a fun little color punch.

The back is really fun with it's slight overlapping closure which allows for some modesty, but still very airy and great for summer. Although this would be adorable over a tshirt for colder weather.
